Assess your coaching needs

Uncategorized Feb 11, 2019

Are you considering to invest into coaching for yourself. We think that any investment to fulfilling your potential is the best life investment. With social media peaking and feeding endless adverts about coaches and trainings to improve your life and encourage you to make as much money as they do, it is easier than ever to embark on a journey of self discovery, self fulfilment and achieving those long lost dreams.

But when scrolling through these posts, as a coach, I am happy to see so many professionals wanting to share their skills and help others. But at the same time we need to remember every person is unique, with unique challenges, goals and lives. And with so many offers from different types of coaches how does one find a differentiating, assuring benefits that ensures YOU (as the coachee) will get the best results.

When choosing a coaching programme there are a few key things to consider.

  1. People buy people. Picking a coach is literally choosing a person who you will be spending a considerable amount of time talking about very personal and important life events. This person should give you the sense of respect and confidence, whilst having relevant life experience. This person should assure you that they have the right skills, empathy, and drive to guide you on your change process.
  2. The methodology. Coaching results in new habits, new processes, new skills that get practiced in real life until they become your modus operandi. So be clear on how hands on or hands off you want your coach to be. Be clear on how much face time or self paced learning you prefer? And ask them about their process, from exercises, reading, e-learning, practicing skills, and face to face conversations.
  3. Relevance. I touched on this earlier. Life experience is key. You don’t become a coach without having gone through the process yourself. Pick a coach who speaks your language and has not just empathy but also experience in achieving the change that you want to achieve. Not every coach is relevant to you in terms of process, values and niche experience.
  4. Where are you now? What type of coaching are you really looking for? This is the hardest for people to self-assess. Most people want more but can not define what this 'more' is. The right coach has the right assessment process to truly identify the changes you want to achieve and also prioritise the steps in your journey to help you achieve your aspirations. The right coaching process starts by identifying what your ideal life looks like and which parts of your life you can systematically improve to achieve your goals.

Aside from the differing methodologies, types, and personalities, every coach will agree that the right process starts by having and designing a clear vision of: "What does success looks like for me?"

To help you identify where you are in your decision process, what your ambitions and aspirations and your preferred methodology are, we have compiled a short questionnaire you can take right now. After completing this questionnaire, we will share a few exercises from our coaching process to help you define exactly: "What is it that I want in life?" By completing the questions and exercises, you will have taken the first and most important step to getting to a roadmap to achieving your goals.

THE COACHING ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRE. TAKE THE FIRST STEP TO DECIDING WHAT YOU WANT TO IMPROVE AND WHAT YOUR PREFERRED JOURNEY IS.

You are one step closer to setting clear goals and designing your dream life. You will receive an email with a review of your answers and free-of charge visioning 'exercises' to start your journey.

"The distance between your dreams and reality is action"

After completing these exercises, take your first action:  In a 30 minutes phone call with a Ricons coach, you will receive personalised feedback on how you can best approach your transformational journey.

We can not promise to be the right fit for everyone, but we promise to be honest, respectful and give your transformational journey the same care we give our own. We will not engage into a partnership unless we are 100% clear that we can help you and that you are ready to learn with us. And for that promise we have great results.
